With the new Amy Winehouse biopic set to release this spring, I wanted to write about why she is one of my favorite musicians and the mixed feelings I have for how the movie will turn out.

With 2023 behind us and the 2024 movie slate ahead, I thought it would be best to review what I felt were the biggest highlights of last year’s box office.

With 2023 having already started for 99% of the world, I wanted to write down a couple thoughts on the seven movies I watched in 2022 that had the biggest impact on me.

The more memes about a particular movie are circulated around the internet, the more likely it is that other people will watch the film to feel part of the conversation.

I would argue that action movies with just spectacle are ok, those that are spectacular and immersive are great, and the rare few that have spectacle, are immersive, and get viewers emotionally invested are superb.

The best movies are those that get you to feel something on a deeply emotional level, and the impression they leave on you drives you to think them over more and discuss them with other people.
